Currently, if you drag a file onto the respective picture on your toolbar it will move the file. This only works for one file, I'm planning on updating it.

If this is just a one time thing open go to the Tray --> Quick Options --> Show desktop folders. And then open your default folder and move every autoit file you want into the new desktop you made, probably the one called AutoIt.

Pay attentions to these problems I have encountered after using this program for a long period of time:

  • Fix the bug where if you click "Show Desktop" or Win + D, it will not reset the icons positions correctly.
  • Fix the bug where it doesn't save the right desktop if you shutdown your computer with Multiple Desktops Running.
So if you're used to using "Show Desktop" you'll have to stop using it create you're own script to do it. If you do press it sometimes (or Win + D) just go to Start > Log Off > Switch Users (Win + L) and then go back in and Desktops will be restoring icon positions as it's supposed to again. However, the positions you had will be lost.

Also, manually shutdown this program before you shutdown your computer. (I'll fix this sometime...)

Hmm...Im my Default Folder...it says its empty. ??

Whichever desktop is active will have an empty folder because the folders/files will be in the @DesktopDir. Which means I gave you slightly wrong directions. Instead, drag all the files on your desktop into the desktop folder that you want them in (once again, the one you probably called AutoIt...) Edited by Piano_Man

Hey piano man..why dont I have Hotkeys on my Configure Desktops thing? I have everything else except for Hotkeys..? Am I missing an update? I downloaded the installer and installed it?

No, the latest fully functional version doesn't contain customizable hotkeys. The source code has them about half way done but it's not working completely. I should get the hotkeys working sometime... I'll try to do that now and see how far I get...

Updated

Hotkeys are now customizable!

For those of you who are downloaded the installer: Download and run the installer. Then download the 1.4.0 exe. Place that file in your install directory and delete the older version. This may cause some of the shortcuts to be broker but you can fix that.

BUMPITY and ANSWERY :) Please. :)

What is the error? Please post a screenshot if you can... I've never heard of this before...

Some advice that might help...

Exit the problem and then check the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Multiple Desktops), check to see that each desktop has a background picture and position type.

Check to folders location @AppDataDir & '\Desktops\Files' to make sure that those are still there... all of Multiple Desktops is based off the files and folders in that directory so maybe it's not finding them...

Edit: If you had never exited AutoIt properly that might of caused the problems you have... When it exits it stores most of the registry values... In that case uninstalling and moving all your files out of the Files dir, basically get your computer like it was before Multiple Desktops. Then run the install again...

With the latest version this should not happen, I think... When I have more free time I'll try messing it up more...

First of all....sometimes its a little slow the first time...creating the labels and stuff...run it again...wait a few seconds then click on them...and SendMessage.au3 isnt an AutoIt (Included) File. Search the forum for it...It's here.
