I just tried UEZs script and it created an .ico file from the GIF. Win7 x64, AutoIt 3.3.8.1. I did have to use an explicit path name to the file because I don't have AutoIt installed on this computer, but otherwise it is the same script.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

File is created now problem.

It created the file and I was able to open the file in Windows Photo viewer and in the Greenfish Icon Editor program without any problems.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

The file is created 47 Kb large, but can't be opened ?

Win 7 X64 3.3.8.0

I don't have 3.3.8.0 to test yet but the produced ico file size should be around 46,5 kb (47,662 bytes). I opened it using IrfanView without any problem!

Maybe you should upgrade to latest version.

Edit: tested with 3.3.8.0 and it's working, too.

Which program are you using to open it ? Because using IrFanView doesn't like it !

I use the windows explorer and see the image of the ico.

Mabey the problem is the code that UEZ made are for Autoit 3.3.8.1 and not for Autoit 3.3.8.0 (i think that's the problem you having).

Try the first code of this post this one is for a older version of autoit (that works for me untill I upgrade to 3.3.8.1)

You should upgrade of course but the only difference was...

Fixed: Built-in editor would not compile/go when installed on x64 or in a non-standard location.

Upgraded to 3.3.8.1 but no success.

No problem must be something, but I can't put my finger on it.
