I just saw your other UDF...

But I can't be tied to, as in the example above, to .mp3...maybe .ogg, etc.

Perhaps more accurately, I would like to click specific text on the screen and run a function of another autoit app I am developing.

I'll keep poking around.

I love your signature line with all of those valuable scripts you designed. Thanks for the great work!

I might be able to tweak this to my needs and thank you for pointing me in this direction. It looks like cool stuff.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself properly though. I want to select words/sentences/paragraphs in a document/email/website.

Then right-click the selected area which will produce a contextmenu with the functions of my autoitscript available. OR perform a hotkey action.

Now that makes sense. I think what you are trying to achieve can't be done through AutoIt, but for example with Opera you can add custom menus yourself & if you know Javascript and HTML you can create extensions.

The UDF has been entirely re-written and now instead of adding to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT you have the option of choosing adding to the current user (HKEY_CURRENT_USER) or all users (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE). The UDF has also been tweaked to work correctly with the 64-bit version of Windows 7.

afaik there is no simple solution for this:

"It's up to you to handle a scenario where multiple files are selected. One instance of your application will be launched per file you have selected. You can solve this by checking if another instance of your application is running, and using Inter-Process Communication to notify the existing instance that other extensions have been selected."

I've implemented this in my program AMT (see sig), using my function >_EnforceSingleInstance() with WM_COPYDATA for interprocess communication.

The main process holds a global buffer, the sub-programs / newly spawned instances send the fileinfo received from the contextmenu (via commandline) to the main process via WM_COPYDATA and exit. The main process appends the data to the global buffer. Finally it waits for 500ms for more changes (buffer <> sub-buffer check). If no more changes are received, it starts processing.
