Documentation should say "sets @error to non-zero" unless there is a table of explicit error values.

Unless there is I will update accordingly with the message that "sets @error to non-zero".

For that function there isn't a table. There are only a handful of functions that have a table but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of functions that say they set @error to 1 when it should really be "non-zero". For that matter I bet a lot of functions say "Returns 1" which leads people to believe this is good code:

If FuncThatReturnsOne() = 1 Then DoSomething()

Hint: It's not. Those cases should be changed to "Returns a non-zero value" as well.

Never explicitly test a value when all you really care about is a boolean result.

Just out of curiosity I did a search for how many functions contained the term "@error to 1" seems as though there are 43 native functions (didn't test UDFs) that do, so at some stage in the next couple of weeks I will go through these and change to the correct term.

Anything that isn't zero, you could've done a quick test like below >>

Local $iValue = -1
If $iValue Then ConsoleWrite("Set as non-zero >> " & $iValue & @LF)

$iValue = 0
If $iValue Then ConsoleWrite("Set as non-zero >> " & $iValue & @LF)

$iValue = 10

i was more meaning if its -1 for eg why is it not called a minus value ?

so from your code 10 is a non zero as well?

"Non zero" means everything but 0.

Like "not black" means any color but black.

Now I have to write a memo to myself to look up "unpossible" but far be it from me to question a word used by someone who studied journalism and possibly majored in English.

Of course we could open up an old can of worms in this thread and go to "Does 0 equate to Nul?" Yes people; it's Nul not Null. Null will most definatly equate to zero but let's not get into that old chestnut again.

I majored in Journalism. I don't think I had a minor yet, I was knocking gen-ed courses out before I left.

Request to update the Random() documentation to call out the fact that Min cannot equal Max or you will get an error.

Remarks:

The Min value needs to be less than the Max value. If they are the same, 0 will be returned to indicate an error has occured.
