I can see another use for this: BigPrinting of huge images - like if you have a template for woodworking that needs to span 1 x 0.75 m. Just need to calibrate DPI versus printer once. Then split desired image to several others and voila... Will be interesting to see where this project is going. I am just a hobby programmer, and nothing great to publish right now.
