One annoyance i have lately since i changed to the latest stable is this, (it didnt seem as bad before)

When i add a line or array elements after a variable it kicks them down onto the next row instead of following to the end the putting the remaining on the next row

Like this

And it will often leave huge gaps per row if there is several rows and the gaps may not be identical on each row

So basically is there a way to make it run to the end and continue properly on the next row?

I understand different length text additions in the layout will trigger the next line sooner but sometimes there is one word then nothing till the next line..

And whilst on the subject could it be made like this with an indent or tab spaces allowed to keep the words tidy? (this is made up btw)

Just some thoughts and i hope i have explained it properly, please ask for clarification if needed

You should probably be manually wrapping your code. Use the _ continuation character at the end of a line and you can continue on to the next.

Yeah i thought of this the other day and its probably what i will end up doing

I posted this to try and understand why it wraps in such an awkward way and whether it was a prob with wrap etc etc

I dont remember it being odd like this in earlier versions

Open your SciTEUser.properties file, and add this line.

wrap.style=2

The default for SciTE is style 1, which is word wrapping, style 2 is character wrapping, meaning it only brings down the characters that go past the visible screen.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

thanks for that thats helpfull, i wasnt aware there was any options for it

I nearly always lay out my code manually - especially large arrays. I quite often need to add comments, throughout the assignment code section, and there are no automated formatting solutions for this. I never use word wrap when writing code - I think it's too intrusive.

I think eventually i may have to do that

Thanks for the help
