Memory Usage Issue

Recommended Posts

In short my script gathers data from a single webpage once every 5 or so minutes and pastes it into excel.. The program runs great but come around 10 hours into it everything crashes and my memory (4GB) usage peaks out. Any idea why? Any idea how to fix this? Even when i exit autoit and the script it continues to not release the memory. This only happens when i run the script for a long period of time.

Sorry for the late response I just got back from my honeymoon. The code is lengthy but in summary it does the following:

Gathers a table from website.

Extracts a few variables from that table, not an array variable, separate variables

opens excel file, if not already open

adds variables to the spreadsheet, increment the excel rows each time the new variables are taken from the website

repeat

Thoughts?

Yes, post a script that demonstrates the issue, otherwise we'd be guessing as to what it is you're doing, and guessing only leads to dozens of posts with less and less people willing to help because they don't know what you're doing, what you've tried, and how you're doing it.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
