Print files in order as they are shown in a directory

Hi All,

What i am trying to accomplish is have a gui so a user can browse to a directoy with pdf files in it and print (send files to HP printer) the files in the exact order as they are seen within that directory.

Im having trouble finding a way to send the files to the printer that the user selects.

antmar904, look at _FileListToArray to list your files. As far as printing, have you tried a forum search? I see over 1000 topics on the subject of printing out there. If you're running into issues trying to print, then please post your script so we can help.

However,

When i browser to different directories it keeps the files in the last directory in the list and does not clear them everytime i select another folder.

Can someone help me with sending the files as they are listed in the folder to a printer to be printer out?

i tried this:

Case $btnPrint
     $printFiles = _FilePrint ( $aFileList)

But that would be to simple and did not work.

As JLogan3o13 said, there are a lot of topics about printing a pdf file.

For my need, I use Sumatra PDF to print PDF files from my AutoIt scripts. It is a small PDF reader, doesn't need to be installed (standalone exe) and as some command line options to print files.

Im having issue's with the syntax and sumatra.

This is not working:

Did something change in the 15 minutes between posts? Because you already said that earlier. Don't bump your thread for at least 24 hours, just because it's important to you doesn't mean anyone else thinks it's that important.

I suggest you to do test like this:

                    $sRunCommand = '@ScriptDir & '\SumatraPDF.exe -print-to-default $selectedfolder & \$aFileList[$i]''

                    ClipPut($sRunCommand)
                    MsgBox(0, 'Test', $sRunCommand)
                Next

and now just check normaly in CMD (just run console in your Windows and now you can paste $sRunCommand contents to the console window each time you do a test, and watch what goes wrong.

Is there not a way to send any file type to a printer using just Autoit?

Using SamtraPDF is nice however i will be printing other file types than just pdf's.

I tried that with a bunch of different syntax and i cant seem to get the files printed.

The error that i get is attached.

There are .txt and .pdf files in that directory.
