All I know is that I have a KDS 17" CRT screen at work and a 19" AOC LCD at home, and it looks the same on either.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Just got in work and it looks purple on a CRT here too.

Edit: Looking round the web turns up lots of similar laptop/CRT blue/purple conversations. What an age we live in...

I've de-purple-ified the images and file icons in the installer now and reuploaded. I've also done the same to the main web site which also appeared wrong. Must remember to do colour stuff on my home machine in future.

Yea, that makes a little difference. Still, You should be able to adjust your screen to accomodate for the change.

@jon, What happened to the icons for the exe? I thought you would at least update the main executables.

I'll update the aut2exe/aut3spy icons, but not sure about autoit3.exe because of the size as mentioned above.

Oh sod it. Going to break the 100KB limit in a couple of days anyway - may as well have a nicer icon as well. I'll just use the 256 color 16x16 and 32x32 though (3600bytes).

K, think I've managed to update and upload everything now, including the installer. Painful on dialup...

Whoops. Adding them back in now.

That's just the company name Larry used when he wrote it

I like the new icons a lot but I think that they are too "mild". I mean that the lack a bit of contrast and thus they might be hard to read, specially for the smaller size icons. But the design is brilliant! In my opinion it is just a matter of tweaking a bit the colors.

Cheers,

Angel

The new tray icon does not look very good in 24- or 16-bit color.

Attached screenshot of 16-bit showing new and old tray icon:

Edit: fixed typo.... I had 26 instead of 16-bit

17 Oct 04: I thought I'd remove the attachment to free up some server space.

@CyberSlug, Do you mean the black border? @jon, Is the trayicon showing a resized 32x32 icon? or is it showing the correct 16x16 icon? It looks like the XP/2k resize bug.

Should be the 16x16 icon (I've included the 16x16 256 and 32x32 256 colour icons with the autoit3.exe).

Scratch that. I blanked out the 16x16 icon (coloured it black) and it still showed an ok tray icon so it must be using the 32x32 resized one. I'll hack around some more.

Ok, I've updated the unstable AutoIt3.exe and AutoItSC.bin files (not done the installer yet) to force the correct icon to be shown. Better?

Icon in tray still looks pretty bad to me... ScreenShot attached.

(Windows 2000 Pro)

EDIT: I think the icon for the .exe needs more contrast as well. (Maybe my resolution is just too darn high!)

EDIT: added another screenshot to show visibility of new icon compared to old icon.

Looks like 2000 doesn't like 256 colour icons in the system tray

The difference is the "aqua look." @jon, what do you think about a black border instead of a grey one on the smaller icons? I do agree that the tray icon looks a little stark in older versions of windows besides xp. Maybe I could make a 16 color icon for the tray that looks better. I will try.

How does this look?

{there's only so much you can do on 16 colors}
