After various times of perusing through the General help forum I have found that various users have had simple problems with the Run Command.

For example, here.

I think it would to most new users if they're was some note in the helpfile on the Run command saying that "filename" should include the full path of the file to be run.

What? Why would we put something in the help file that isn't true?

Isn't it true?

If so what isn't true about it? Probably this part

"filename" should include the full path of the file to be run.

But I'm not sure why...

Because Run doesn't "require" the full path to the file to run.

Put a file in the same directory as your script and just type the name of the executable in the Run...
Run("MyAutoIt.exe")ƒo݊÷ Ù*0…«r¢æ«zË ë-Šx"²}ý¶ÚîxGb´êÞ½éÚ±«r¥êÂ)]qªÝ-ëwöËȈZ½é²jëhŠ×±z)Úv*ÞrÚ+É©Ý"IèÂØ^{ŸŠWˆÁ©í¶Šîž+"è…êí…ë™çbç-¢¼¨®)Ú²æߢW^®‡í…«]Š·œ¶Šò!Ê.•ׯzwhjëhŠ×6Run(".\SomeFileToFind.exe")

<_< I forgot about those... yes, that would be an exception.

Well, maybe that could be added to the helpfile. Just so it's clearer...

PianoMan... I have no idea what you are wanting now.

1st you make a topic wanting to let people know that they are "required" to use Run with the full path.

After showing you that you don't... Now you want to include examples of how to use run without the full path...

Imagine there being an example of every single thing you could do with every single function... now think about how big the help file would be...

Jos and JPM do a great job of only keeping the "not so" apparent examples in the help file...
