GEOSoft
Does FileRead() do a binary read or just a text read? I don't remember how it works any more. I Know I can use FileOpen() with the binary flag set. I'm talking about using a simple file read operation without using FileOpen first as in the following; If FileRead("FirstFile") <> FileRead("SecondFile") Then Do whatever functions EndIf I've often used that for a file compare operation but the files I've used it on are usually text based. GEOSoft
Maybe I should clarify this a bit. If FileRead($Dir & "\File1.txt") <> FileRead($Dir2 & "\File2.txt") Then Do whatever functions EndIf Will compare the 2 txt files and if they are different will perform the functions. Does the same apply in the following. If FileRead($Dir & "\File1.exe") <> FileRead($Dir2 & "\File2.exe") Then Do whatever functions EndIf I think it should but I'm not sure.
