reading info from things

Recommended Posts

i sorta learned how to make autoit recieve info from the gui.

i learned how to make it "read" clicks on a button and i assume it's the same thing with the other clickable things.

my problem is reading the edit (i think) thing. where you actually TYPE something.

like

type something here [__________________________________]

thing.

how do you save that into a dim?

Not sure if this is what you mean, but to set a variable to a string which is the text in an edit

$EditText = GuiCtrlRead($Edit1)
