How To Use TeraCopy Timer
=========================
It must be noted, that I created this program, to aid in preventing drives from overheating and to reduce the issues related to system memory loss for sustained big jobs running over a long period of time. It also caters for a few other handy features, like a specific type of shutdown scenario, skipping and record keeping which includes dates, times and job sizes. You also don't need to have more than one TeraCopy window on screen at any one time or using up system resources. It allows you to set things up, click START, and then go and do other things, with very little monitoring of TeraCopy required.

For Each Job
------------

1. Drag and Drop a source file or folder onto the Source Path field or browse for it.

2. Drag and Drop a destination folder onto the Destination Path field or browse for it.

3. Type any required changes to Destination Path, including using the SOURCE button.

4. Set the 'copy' or 'move' option (if not already correct).

5. Click the SET button and respond to any prompts.

6. Click the SAVE button if you make any changes to Destination Path or copy/move.

7. Click the ADD button if you wish, to store Destination Path as a Favorite Destination.

NOTE - You can update a Destination Path and the copy/move settings at any time, just by selecting a Job and clicking SAVE when ready, but updating the Source Path can be fraught with difficulty, possibly risking a mistake when prompted to overwrite/update an existing Job name. The safest way to update the source, is to enable the UP (SET) button, select the existing Job name, modify the Source Path, click the UP button and follow prompts. The not so safe way, is to override the automatic Job name, by using your own text when prompted, and then choosing 'Update' if prompted, because you could conceivably update the wrong entry.

After Jobs Added (optional)
----------------

1. Adjust the order if you wish, in which the Jobs will be processed. Select a Job to see its order number, or select an order number to see its job.

2. Set the standard Delay to use between jobs, remembering also to enable the 'Use Delay' option.

3. If desired, click the 'A' button to access 'Advanced Delay Options', from where you can setup additional delay parameters, remembering also to set the 'Enable' option if you want them used.

4. If you desire to have your PC shutdown after all jobs are completed, enable that option.

NOTE - The 'Use Delay' option must be set to use either the standard delay or advanced settings.

When Ready
----------

1. Click the START button and respond to initial prompts.

2. Note the appearance of a floating STOP button, and if necessary, click its title to drag it to a better location.

3. Note also, the appearance of the TeraCopy progress window, which can also be relocated.

After Jobs Started
------------------

1. Occasionally monitor the process to check progress and for any issues that may arise.

2. Click the STOP button, if you want access to enabling/disabling the Shutdown option.

3. Click the STOP button, if you want to see a prompt to Cancel any further job processing at that point. NOTE - any current job under way, will still continue to be copied/moved unless you also click CANCEL on the TeraCopy window. Between jobs, during any Delay period, the program checks every 10 seconds for STOP having been clicked, so the STOP process could take up to 10 seconds in that situation.

ADVANCED DELAY OPTIONS
======================
If the 'Advanced Delay Options' have not been enabled on that window/gui/dialog, then if the 'Use Delay' option has been enabled, all jobs will have the same delay of specified minutes between them.

If the 'Advanced Delay Options' has been enabled, then you can have up to three additional delay between jobs criteria.

You can set a different delay in minutes for jobs over a specified size in megabytes, and also another for jobs below specified size. In addition to that, you can also specify NO DELAY for any job less than half the specified size for below, by enabling the 'Half Of' option.

'Double' is one option, that specifies that the delay for all jobs over the 'Above' size, just be double the standard delay.

'None' is an option, that specifies that the delay for all jobs under the 'Below' size be zero (no delay).

A good rule of thumb (reasonable defaults), might be the following (remembering that 1 gigabyte equals 1024 megabytes, and that the program measures in megabytes).

Standard Delay (main window) = 3 minutes.

Advanced Delay (above) = 6 minutes for over 14336 megabytes (14 gigabytes).

Advanced Delay (below) = 1 minute for under 4096 megabytes (4 gigabytes).

For the settings immediately above, the 'Double' option enabled, would give the same 6 minutes, and the 'Half' option enabled, would mean zero minutes (no delay) for jobs less than 2048 (2 gigabytes).

Usually, you would not want to use this timer program for lots of small files as individual jobs. In fact, I would not recommend this program for that scenario.
