.ico File Not Working in Compiler

Recommended Posts

When I use the compile script to .exe file, the icon doesn't want to change from the default autoit icon, to the icon I browse for in the compilation program. Does anyone know what I have to do to get this to work?

http://www.dknightstudios.org/LS/icon.ico <-- set of 5 icons, 16x16 - 64x64

http://www.dknightstudios.org/LS/icon2.ico <-- just a regular 64x64 icon

And how you are trying to do it?

When I use the compile script to .exe file

That would be the Aut2exe.exe file in the Autoit/Aut2Exe directory. >_<

Browsing for the .au3 file, the .exe path, and the .ico file, so I'm sure they aren't wrong.

Edit: Ah, got it working, I guess I just couldn't name it the .exe the same as the .au3 was named (LSToolbox.au3, and LSToolbox.exe didn't work, changed it to asdf.exe, and all is good)

You don't have to enter the name of the output file. If you leave that blak then it defaults to the same as the input file but with the exe extension, which is what you were attempting to do. And by the way, I've often seen it where the icon didn't change until the folder was refreshed.

Well, I had to manually change the file name to something other than what the .au3 was named, for the icon to change to the icon file that I used. Could that be a bug?

I don't get the problem and you are the first person to mention it so I would say no.

I suspect that you first compiled it without a specified icon which would give you the default. Then you recompiled and specified the icon and it just didn't refresh the old one. Your compiled EXE would probably have still been using the new one when checked on a different system or if you had refeshed by almost any method. Sometimes just F5 will do it, at other times I've had to restart or rebuild the icon cache.
