Hi All,

Does anyone know if it is possible to have Aut2exe assign a specifice version number to the compiled EXE? OR can Autoit3Wrapper be run from a command line?

Thanks

MMcBrine,

I asked the same question about the Version Number field in a compiled exe here. As you can see from Jos' responses, using AutoIt3Wrapper and Aut2Exe will give you the AutoIt version number in this field. You can change it easily with ResHacker, but you need to keep the same #.#.#.# format.

It used to for sure but it runs in my mind that Jos modified the wrapper to use AutoIt code instead because of some issues with Vista. I do know that at one time it was also coded to look for the path value that my Win32 installer version of Resource Hacker wrote to the registry. Now that will also have changed if he is not using Resource Hacker any longer.

The PCRE (Regular Expression) ToolKit for AutoIT - (Updated Oct 20, 2011 ver:3.0.1.13) - Please update your current version before filing any bug reports. The installer now includes both 32 and 64 bit versions. No change in version number.

Confirm that. There is no TRACE of ResHack in the code at all.

Edit: Aren't you the one who created Wrapper?

GEOSoft,

I believe Jos moved away from ResHacker because it did not support x64 files rather than because of a specific Vista problem. I remember him saying in another topic that when he rewrote the code to include resources directly he only managed to get anything other than icon resources into the RC_DATA area and with #1, #2, etc, references, which caused Zedna some problem with the directives for his Resources UDF.

@M23. That's correct. It was the x64 problem and not something Vista specific.

@WolfWorld. That's incorrect. I had nothing whatsoever to do with the development of the wrapper. In fact Jos has spent much of his valuable time trying to get me to use it. Still doesn't happen often.

EDIT: I also didn't mean to imply that Jos wrote it originaly either. I forget just who it was now and since Search is still AFU, I won't be looking to find out either.
