Change String during Running Time

Hello Freaks,

is there any possibility to change a String content during Running Time? It would make things much easier.

For example: I have an

"unknown string content" & "world time" & "unknown content"

if I could declare it like this:

$string = $a & $hour & $min & $sec & $b

Now I could "only" update $hour, $min, $sec and would get a new String:

while (1)

$hour = @HOUR

$min = @MIN

$sec = @SEC

wend

if $sec has changed it would be great if $string has changed, too - because it contains $sec...

Is it impossible or has anybody an idea?

Many thanks - Autoit is really great!!!

dost0011,

To update a string during runtime, you just redeclare it. Based on your post, this shows what I mean:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>

$sTime = ""  ; <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Declare the string as empty

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$hLabel = GUICtrlCreateLabel($sTime, 10, 10, 100, 20)

GUISetState()

$iCurr_Sec = @Sec

While 1

    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch

    If @SEC <> $iCurr_Sec Then
        $sTime = @HOUR & ":" & @MIN & ":" & @SEC ; <<<<<<<<<<<<<< Redeclare the string as we go along
        GUICtrlSetData($hLabel, $sTime)
    EndIf

WEnd

I hope this helps.

P.S. And we are not "freaks", by the way! :D
