FileSetTime work and not

I use

$a=FileSetTime("C:\Foglio\Italia\Pino Daniele\Sara.mp3", "20090419184237" , 0 , 1)

$a return 0 and the filestamp is not modified.

no problem whit

$a=FileSetTime("c:\Foglio\aa.log", "20090419184237" , 0 , 1)

Why?

Probably something to do with the file path.

Learn to add checking to your scripts.

$sFile = "C:\Foglio\Italia\Pino Daniele\Sara.mp3"
If FileExists($sFile) Then
    $a = FileSetTime( $sFile, "20090419184237" , 0 , 1)
Else
    MsgBox(0, "Error", "The file path is not correct")
EndIf

You may also want to look at using FileGetShortName()

$a = FileSetTime(FileGetShortName($sFile), "20090419184237" , 0 , 1)

What happened when you ran the code I gave you?

but

FileSetTime(FileGetShortName( return 0

Then for some reason the timestamp can't be changed on that file. Is it in use by anything?

if I rename a file in a folder-level work, fe:

c:\test\test.txt

if I hand in renaming a folder down does not work, fe:

c:\test\test2\test.txt

no problem with NirCmd
