New to AutoIt Help

I am new to AutoIt. I have some basics in Java. Can someone explain to me the basics of AutoIt, its methods, function, etc. Is it similar to Java? Do you think I can get use to the language here or do you recommend another program? Thanks!

I want to write an application on Windows:

When a mouse comes close to an icon on the desktop, the icon will automatically grow to twice of its original size.

Its possible but you are going to have fun knowing when something is close. It would be much simpler if it grew when the mouse was on it.

AutoIt is more like VB than Java but like learning any other languages the principles are the same it just different syntax, funtions and ways of doing things.
