MilesAhead
I'm piecing together a little script to open different browsers depending which application tries to open a url(not another browser but like if you double click a url in EditPad as example.) That part is easy if I can get Windows to set my program as the default browser. Seems like Vista64 is wicked complicated in this case. Has anyone worked with this and maybe can give a few hints? Using the Browser Chooser utility as a stalking horse I get these entries (just showing the start of lines to avoid wrap) HKCR\BrowserChooserHTML REG_SZ Browser Ch HKCR\BrowserChooserHTML URL Protocol REG_SZ HKCR\BrowserChooserHTML\DefaultIcon RE HKCR\BrowserChooserHTML\shell\open\command HKCR\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\She HKCR\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\She HKCR\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\She HKCR\Wow6432Node\BrowserChooserHTML RE HKCR\Wow6432Node\BrowserChooserHTML URL Protoc HKCR\Wow6432Node\BrowserChooserHTML\DefaultIcon HKCR\Wow6432Node\BrowserChooserHTML\shell\open\com HKCR\Wow6432Node\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft HKCR\Wow6432Node\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Micr HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Micr HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Micr HKCU\Software\Classes\Wow6432Node\Local Settings\S HKCU\Software\Classes\Wow6432Node\Local Settings\S HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations That's a lot more than just setting HKLM HTML.
