Return Value question

Recommended Posts

I wrote a bit of Autoit code that checks for the existance of a number of applications. In an attempt to clean up my code, I want to find a way to make all my return values (1 or 0) result in either "Installed" or "Not Installed".

eg.

$FLS = FileExists("C:\File.ocx")

$FLS = "Installed"

If @error Or $FLS = 0 then $FLS = "Not Installed"

Is there a way to automatically result the success/failue into "Installed"/"Not Installed"?

Thanks,

Dan

FileExists already returns 1 for success and 0 for failure.

Func _IsFileInstalled($file)
    If FileExists($file) Then
        Return "Installed"
    Else
        Return "Not Installed"
    EndIf
EndFunc

Or Simply

Func _FileExists($file)
    Return FileExists($file)
EndFunc

edit: Also, you are reassigning the $FLS var right after the FileExists func...so it will never be a 1 or 0 before the If @error statement.

TheBigSaxon,

Write a little function:

$FLS = _Install_Check("File_Name")

Func _Install_Check($sFile)
    If FileExists($sFile) Then Return "Installed"
    Return "Not Installed"
EndFunc

ConsoleWrite($FLS & @CRLF)

Global $sArray[2] = ["Not Installed","Installed"]
$FLS = $sArray[FileExists("C:\File.ocx")]

Fileexists returns 0 or 1. This is taken as the index to the array and returns the text.
