Adding letters to variables

$text = 'Chris'
$text = $text & '1'
MsgBox(0,":)~", "Hello, " & $text

Why won't this work, What I want to do is add a string onto the string i already have, but i can't figure out how to do it in autoit. :)

You have the wrong syntax for MsgBox.

look at using different quotes like " or '

You are missing a ')' at the end of the last line. MsgBox(0,":)~", "Hello, " & $text) works.
