Edit Control line limit problem

I want to load text files into an Edit Control, which is working fine. But now I've found out, that after 1023 characters a line break happens!?

Can I increase this limit, and if so, how?

I want to put single lines from a text file (with a length of around 2000 characters) into ONE line in the edit control, without automatically placed line breaks.

GUICtrlSetLimit or _GUICtrlEdit_SetLimitText

Both are to set the text limit for the whole control, not to set the max. characters for ONE line before a line break happens. You can take any edit control and enter 1024 chars. The next char in the same line will be put on the next line.

syntech,

A Google search found this on a MS help page:

In the Microsoft Windows graphical environment [...] A multiline edit control is [...] subject to the following limitations:

[...]

The maximum number of characters in a single line is 1024.

The maximum width of a line is 30,000 pixels.

The maximum number of lines is approximately 16,350.

Looks like it is a Windows limitation, not an AutoIt one, which means you are stuck with it. :)
