Hi,

I need to know what the return value of @OSType is when it runs on Windows 7.

I dont have it so i cant check it ^^.

Not so strange when you think of it. There is NO relationship between the product name and the product version. After all was the version for Windows 95 listed as 95.#.#.#

you would find a few articles based on whether it should have been 7 or why is it win 7...

for that matter, windows 2000 to windows 7 - all are still called Win32_NT !!!! built around Windows NT ?

Yes, the original 16-bit codebase was abandoned after the release of Windows ME. Windows 2000, 2003, 2008, 2008R2 (server), XP, Vista and 7 (desktop) are all descendants of Windows NT.
