COM Object Issue

Here's the issue:

So far, i can't make this control resize, at all. Doesn't respond to controlMove() or GuictrlSetPOS() commands, so i cannot size the thing when i need too.

So the only method i could think of, was to recreate the GuiCtrlCreateOBJ() command with different parameters.

Of course, if you call GUICtrlDelete() on the same OBJ that you created with GuiCtrlCreateOBJ() it seems to invalidate it for future use, so you have to recreate the entire COM object again.

Now, normally, this wouldn't be an issue, as the COM objects are removed after the process is closed. At least that's the case for INPROCSERV (in process server) objects (such as this one).

The issue is, that when i invalidate the object, it still remains in memory. And, instead of being able to call as many as i want, i can only call about 59 of them on my Win7 box. Same number on vista and XP.

So, questions:

How can i get this to resize the control?

How can i get this to not error out after 59 attempts?

In order to test this you will need to have: nBit HTML Editor

You can just extract it and then install it, or use a tool like Universal Extractor to extrac the OCX from it. The only file you need to register, to gain access to the COM object is the rmpHTML.ocx file.

What's still valid? I ran your test script, it ran 100 times and it didn't crash for me. I'm not sure what problem you're having with the scripts because neither one crashes for me.

I mean GuiCtrlCreateObj ReturnValue is Failure .

And the question is: Why ?

And if you consider that the first 59 attempts were positive, why suddenly the other trials are negative ?

Forget that: the ocx is not installed anymore on this machine so the test is meaningless. Sorry for that.
