Getting started with RegExp

I watched some youtube videos about them and read the helpfile so I have a pretty good idea how the whole thing works so now I'm just down to practical application.

I have no idea what to do for the first thing I need it for >.>

I need to use (I think) StringRegExpReplace to remove everything between "<" and ">" with any amount of any characters in between with "".

$corn = StringRegExpReplace("<TAB#%^^>save this  text!! <</banana>", 'sdfqeragdfgafhd >:[', "")
MsgBox("", "", $corn)

^ my last try lol.

I've been trying to figure out what to do for a few hours now to accomplish my task but I'm pretty sure the logic behind the syntax is escaping me. ;)

A real sample line may have been of some benefit but I think what you are looking for is something like this.

$sStr = "<banana>Save this text.</banana> <span>And some more text to save.</span>"

$sStr = StringRegExpReplace($sStr, "(?i)<.+?>(.*?)</.+?>", "$1")

Perhaps I should have gone with something a bit simpler to start with as I don't think I can task you with the tedium of a full length explanation.

But yes that is exactly what I was looking for. I have a feeling it's gonna take me a good while to get my head around it because I need to look up what each individual thing does lol.

All of a sudden the light will come on and you will be writing them with relative ease. Just stay at it and ask when you need help.
