dgg4
My apologies for what may be an obvious question, but can AutoIt be used in a locked down corporate environment where the user (me) does not have admin privileges? thx! --dg
slayerz
Normal application can run in limited user environment (except if you set #Require Admin). If your application does not make any changes to the system files or registry, it should be ok to run as limited user. AUTOIT[sup] I'm lovin' it![/sup]

I'm primarily interested in automated text substitution...for frequently used text. I'm guessing this is possible with AutoIt. I wouldn't be changing any system characteristics. Bert
you may want to look for an app called robotype. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,427369,00.asp Edited December 28, 2009 by Volly The Vollatran project My blog: http://www.vollysinterestingshit.com/
dgg4
you may want to look for an app called robotype. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,427369,00.aspThe article says it requires admin privileges for installation, and it's $8 to download, so I'll pass unless you have first hand experience that it doesn't require admin privileges and works acceptably on Win 7. There are others out there like this, but your experience might save me a lot of trial and error time...so please do tell.
JohnOne
Ive found on win7 that it will only edit even text files if they are in a common folder If I try to create a text file in say C:\ for instance it will not comply unless run as admin.
