Program remain active while on sleep mode

Recommended Posts

Hello, is there a function like Sleep() that will keep the program remain active while it is in wait mode? Right now I have a program will press a certain key every so minute but in between those minutes I still want the program to go through all the code all the time and not wait until sleep mode is over. Thanks.

As far as I know your code is either sleep() or not, in cannot loop your script and sleep at same time

I seen a function on MSDN that looked good but alas cant find it in autoit SleepEx

Have a look at AdlibRegister()

which might help you.

Nepthonius,

Welcome to the AutoIt forum. ;)

There are a number of ways to do what you want - which one is best depends exactly on what you are trying to do. The 2 most common are:

1. Adlib. Using this type of function interrupts your script at a fixed time interval to perform some other code and then lets your script resume.

2. Timer. If your script runs in a loop which is pretty much guaranteed to be shorter than the time interval between the interrupting function, you can use TimerInit and TimerDiff to trigger the function.

Go and read up on those in the Help file and decide which you think might be best for your script. If you have problems with your code, you know where we are. :evil:
