Deleting All Items from a ListView

Dear All,

I have source code to fill up a listview upon reading a file. If the User opens another file, the system has to erase the previous listview and generate a new one. How can I do that?

Or you could pretend the above happened in another universe and use the _GUICtrlListView_DeleteAllItems command.

And additionally add _GUICtrlListView_BeginUpdate($hWnd) before adding the new values and _GUICtrlListView_EndUpdate($hWnd) after you've finished, makes filling the listview much smoother ...

Have you tried using GUICtrlSetData()

From the help file (who would have imagined?)

For ListView, ListViewItem controls :

To update a specific column just forget about the others ie "||update" to update 3rd column.

If "update" is empty the column/subitem will be erased. For example "|" will erase the second column/subitem, "" will erase the first.

That Help file does get too big sometimes!

But I prefer it that way rather than nothing at all.....

Oh but I do use MSDN on a regular basis. The problem with that monstrosity is not the actual size, but the rather confusing content!

Luckily thats when you know what you are looking for (eg a specific function). If you are looking for a way to delete all the items from a list veiw etc. then it might take you slightly longer.
