how to use AutoIt?

LastEmperor,

First, welcome to the AutoIt forums. :D

Reading the Help file (at least the first few sections - Using AutoIt, Tutorials and the first couple of References) will help you enormously. You should also look at the excellent tutorials that you will find here and here. There are even video tutorials on YouTube if you prefer watching to reading. I know you want to start coding NOW, but a little study will save you a lot of trouble later on, believe me. :

A couple of other tips:

When you reply please use the "Add Reply" button at the top and bottom of the page rather then the "Reply" button in the post itself. That way you do not get the contents of the previous post quoted in your reply and the whole thread becomes easier to read.

When you post code please use Code tags. Put [autoit ] before and [/autoit ] after your posted code (but omit the trailing space - it is only there so the tags display here). Or press the blue button just under the BOLD toolbar button.

And finally, remember this is not a 24/7 support forum - those who answer are only here because they like helping others and have some time to spare. You just have to wait until someone who knows something about your particular problem, and is willing to help, comes online. Be patient and someone will answer eventually.

Have fun! :huggles:

Just to expand off of Melbas post, we also have a Wiki which is very good tool, something a lot of people completely ignore.

The Example Scripts forum also has a lot of scripts you can usually use in anything you write, just give credit when and if you use it.

Like Melba says, a little research now will save you trouble later. It's always nice to see members who have tried to solve a problem and show us how they have tried.

LastEmperor,

I am very disappointed by your last post. :huggles: We are very willing to help you become a proficient scripter/coder/programmer (or whatever we are called today!) in AutoIt, but we will not help you break the ToS of any game in which you have decided to "cheat". Nor will we help in any other behaviour that we deem illegal/malicious or injurious to the reputation of AutoIt.

So what do you want to do? Stay here and learn to code properly in AutoIt with lots of friendly help - or go somewhere else where the "dark" side is tolerated. I hope you choose wisely. :D

Well it's not hard if you put one and one together to make two, your "Screen Name" (username) LastEmperor which sounds stereotypically chinese, also with all the recent news about china banning google and youtube and what not it makes sense that you would come from there

p.s. beaten

Also I would add that you can usually find other infromation on your problems by using the forum search feature aswell as the help file.

Interpreters have great power!Although they live in the shadow of compiled programming languages an interpreter can do anything that a compiled language can do, you just have to code it right.
