PhilipG
I wonder why I sometimes when I'm compiling scripts keep having the error: "Error: Error opening the destination file" But if I try sometimes more it always end up working. Is this just a bug or is there anything I can do different? I'm using: "Aut2Exe v3 - AutoIt Script to EXE Converter"
Moderators Melba23 Posted January 29, 2010 Moderators Share Posted January 29, 2010 PhilipG, The most common cause of this error is having a previous version of the compiled exe already running so that the new version cannot be written to disk. Another cause can be trying to write to protected folders (if you use Vista or Win 7). Either of those sound possible? PhilipG
Well i Might have had it running, but in that case it was running from a different folder. so that shouldn't be a problem, am I right?
Moderators Melba23 Posted January 29, 2010 Moderators Share Posted January 29, 2010 PhilipG,No, that should not cause the error as it is not the same path - unless you are using the #AutoIt3Wrapper_OutFile= directive to create the exe in the same folder as the running version.I have been searching the forum and there appear to be occasional errors of this type that "just happen". So I am afraid there seems little anyone can do to prevent it - and at least you can usually compile after a retry.
