Getting a win state that doesn't exist

Recommended Posts

getWinState() is returning 13 and I don't see that listed in the documentation. What is happening is that the window is minimized, winActivate is called on it, and the window seems to register as active and still minimized. I am even able to access that windows menu functions though it's minimized.

Look in the help for WinGetState, then see if you really believe that some combination of 1,2,4,8,16 and 32 cannot be arranged to give a value of 13.

(Since you say it is minimized I assume that "13" is 0x13)

Serial port communications UDF Includes functions for binary transmission and reception.printing UDF Useful for graphs, forms, labels, reports etc.Add User Call Tips to SciTE for functions in UDFs not included with AutoIt and for your own scripts.Functions with parameters in OnEvent mode and for Hot Keys One function replaces GuiSetOnEvent, GuiCtrlSetOnEvent and HotKeySet.UDF IsConnected2 for notification of status of connected state of many urls or IPs, without slowing the script.

UGH!!!!! Shame on me for not reading the doc all the way through. Sorry about that and thank you.

WinGetState's states are BitAND'ed, and 8 + 4 + 1 = 13:

(from the help file)

1 = Window exists

2 = Window is visible

4 = Window is enabled

8 = Window is active

16 = Window is minimized

32 = Window is maximized

HTH,

whim

edit: sorry, too late

r3dlined,

If you want to see if a particular state exists among the number that might exist, you can do this:

If BitAND(WinGetState($hHandle), $iState) = $iState Then

So to see if a window is minimised:

If BitAND(WinGetState($hHandle), 16) = 16 Then

If you look at the numeric values of the various state options and think in binary you will soon see why this works! :D

P.S. Old maths joke: There are only 10 types of mathematicians: those who understand binary and those who do not! :huggles:

Edit: Typnig!
