seperate string

Trying to separate a string into segments.

Each 'data' is wrapped with '!', my only concern is the data itself, the wrapping delimiter is of no importance.

There are quite few methods I thought of, none is really efficient, anyone know of a way?

$temp = "!data1!!data2!!data3!!data4!!data5!"

_SeperateAndProcess ( $temp )

Func _SeperateAndProcess ( $in )
    
    $mid = StringToASCIIArray  ( $in )

$temp = "!data1!!data2!!data3!!data4!!data5!"

_SeperateAndProcess ( $temp )

Func _SeperateAndProcess ( $in )

    $aArray = StringSplit(StringTrimLeft(StringTrimRight($in, 1), 1), "!!", 1)

    _ArrayDisplay($aArray)

EndFunc

wow... ok, thats way better than what I have...

I was going to use For loop and scan for the ! and put it back into a string... ugh...

Another way:

#include <Array.au3>    ; For _ArrayDisplay()
Local $temp = "!data1!!data2!!data3!!data4!!data5!"
_ArrayDisplay(StringSplit(StringRegExpReplace($temp, '(\A!|!\z|!(?=!))', ''), '!'))

In plain english, the regexp replaces:

"a ! at the beginning of the string"

or

"a ! at the end of the string"

or

"a ! followed by a !"

by nothing.
