Throw in about 10 more unused #include files, that ought'a do it!

You may have noticed clicking on X doesn't close the main GUI, because you are trying to use GuiGetMsg() while you have GuiOnEventMode set. It's either\or, GuiGetMsg() doesn't work while in event mode.

If you're trying to hide the child GUI, why not just use GuiSetState(@SW_HIDE, $formchild), or just delete it and recreate when needed?

:(

The script is bigger and I just copy paste some code to make it work

don't work, because the "avi" previev remain after formchild delete or hide. That's my problem. webcam stops but a black preview remain, even I delete formchild.

Well, since we don't have a short, running, demo script that we can run to see the issue with, not much we can do here.

the code works, and shows how a new form with a picture apears under the preview. to stop... just right click and stop, but...

I have found the problem

$cap = DllCall($avi, "int", "capCreateCaptureWindow", "str", "cap", "int", BitOR($WS_CHILD,$WS_VISIBLE), "int", 50, "int", 50, "int", 320, "int", 240, "hwnd", $Main, "int", 1)

I replaced the $Main with $formchild
