I read the following posts: #280502

http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37289&view=findpost&p=253174 and didn't see anything prohibiting paying members for help. I apologize if this post is in the wrong section. I know there is no "Paid projects" area. But I have a sincere question about getting more in depth help in the time frame that is useful to me. So my questions, is it ok to post a paid request, pm individual members, or should I just try my luck with Amazon Mechanical Turk, http://www.rentacoder.com , http://www.odesk.com/jobs/autoit-windows-script_~~8596ba11ce3da7d4 I wouldn't mind using those resources but I am concerned that they would not be conversant with AutoIt. I guess there is no simple way to find out of the people posting here how many frequent those rent a coder type of websites.

I also read where a member said:

There is a reason you did not see a "Paid Projects" section, it is because this is a support community. The AutoIt community will help you with scripts that YOU create. The majority of us here will gladly give our assistance free of charge if it is a project that you undertake. Very rarely will anyone here on these forums write an entire program for you, we may give examples, and help you with your script, but writing programs for others, especially for a price is not what this community is about.

If you wish to learn the language, I highly recommend the Help File that is included with AutoIt. After that, post the script that you do have, and I as well as many others will gladly help you troubleshoot, or add to it.

I do want to learn AutoIt for myself. Is there any other books or introductory resources similar to "AutoIt v3: Your Quick Guide by Andy Flesner" I saw that was free looks like legally at http://www.addebook.com/it/uncategorized/autoit-v3-your-quick-guide-oreilly-short-cuts_7537.html Edited by meatsack

And remember, the help file is your best resource. Take the time to read it well and to experiment with the examples and it will make life easier in the long run.

Question about decompiling code? Read the decompiling FAQ and don't bother posting the question in the forums.

Be sure to read and follow the forum rules. -AKA the AutoIt Reading and Comprehension Skills test.***
