Don't know what to recommend here.

I've used Console Telnet with the STD I/O functions found in the unstable release of AutoIt3 to connect to other text-based Internet services, but some IRC servers don't accept "raw" connections like you get from a telnet client...

Yes yes yes, there it was. Youth must go, ah yes. But youth is only being in a way like it might be an animal. No, it is not just being an animal so much as being like one of these malenky toys you viddy being sold in the streets, like little chellovecks made out of tin and with a spring inside and then a winding handle on the outside and you wind it up grrr grrr grrr and off it itties, like walking, O my brothers. But it itties in a straight line and bangs straight into things bang bang and it cannot help what it is doing. Being young is like being like one of these malenky machines.

To do this specifically withe the mIRC IRC client, mIRC would have to expose a COM API. To my knowledge, it does not, but you may want to look here:

mIRC Discussion Boards

That said, it is possible you might find another client that does offer an API and you'd then be able to connect through their APIs.

Also, a Google search of "IRC COM API" brings up some interesting matches including this one: VB IRC API

One last thought... you should also be able to connect to PerlScript (from ActiveState) through the Windows Script Host API via COM and you may then be able to use much of the code already out there for Perl and mix it in with the AutoIt functionality in your scripts.

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?
