I am attempting to to read and display a user defined variable with RegRead. The problem is the result is not being displayed in a message box and I cannot determine why.

$var = RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\", "installprog")
MsgBox(4096, "Message", "Install Files are in:", $var)

"installprog" is a String Value with a value data of "c:\filebackups"

Thanks

Willow

Some say that it’s all in the timing, seizing the right opportunity. Others even say it’s the ability to leave no trace behind, be a ghost.

$var = RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\", "OS")
MsgBox(4096, "Message", "Install Files are in: " & $var) ;wrong => MsgBox(4096, "Message", "Install Files are in:",$var) $var not timeout for ;msgbox()

+Make sure installprog exist in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\

Thanks for the help, I found my mistake. Here is the corrected code.

$var = RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\", "installprog")
MsgBox(4096, "Message", "Install Files are in:" & $var)
