Help with phidget's ( below a newbie here )

Recommended Posts

Help Hello and thank u all for trying to help me out. I have no knowledge on how to do anything with what is involved with programming. Im not even sure that this is the wright forum to be asking these questions but here I go. i bought a phidget 64 LED i thought it would be simple. but boy was i wrong. I have sat down in front of my computer loading programs such as C+++ and well all of the other accompanying programming software. What I am trying to do is program t so I can use it on my fire engine as an emergency light. And mabey one day share or sell the idea and program to a major distributor and have a production product. But again all of those dreams came to a halt when I plugged my phidget in and well it just sat there for about 9 months. Would any one be willing to help me program this? Or help me with some knowledge on how to use it? If so I would appreciate it. And or make it worth some ones while.

Nobody, but then i mean absolutely nobody here can help you out without having a look at the hardware and its drivers. This is the same thing as asking a carmechanic "hi, my car is broken, how can i fix it?". The mechanic cannot tell you whats wrong until he has a look at it himself.

Same goes for this, without having a look at the hardware, nobody's able to help you here.

Welcome to the forums smokeeatertk28.

What notsure is saying is essentially correct. He is also correct if you want to have someone write it for you. However many of us are reasonable and coding without testing so we may be able to help. Is there a SDK or something similar to controlling this device? Can you link us to that or and examples that you have tried that work with the device? Is it USB and is it a virtual COM port?

We need a lot more information before you before we can help.

Finally, what have you tried? We need to know what you've attempted. Otherwise it tells us you don't want to learn- one of the main objective of this forum is just that. Not to give code, but to teach it.

Cheers,

Brett

EDIT: typo.

Just a quick look at the link you gave and i found http://www.phidgets.com/documentation/Tutorials/Getting_Started_Autoit.pdf and http://www.phidgets.com/documentation/COM_API_Manual.pdf on page http://www.phidgets.com/programming_resources.php, which shows all differant programming languages. You should have a better poke around there to find the information you need then if you still want to use autoit to carry this out, come back with quesion more specific to the auotoit language itself.

GDIPlusDispose - A modified version of GDIPlus that auto disposes of its own objects before shutdown of the Dll using the same function Syntax as the original.EzMySql UDF - Use MySql Databases with autoit with syntax similar to SQLite UDF.
