illumino
Hey Community Anyhow, my Scripts are not closing "Connections" to Files. If I write something like this: While 1 $File = @DesktopDir & "\test.txt" FileOpen($File) FileReadLine($File, 1) FileClose($File) Sleep(20000) WEnd I cannot change the File, because it is used by this Process (Tested with Unlocker). What i´ve done wrong? I only want an Script, wich reads in an File every 20 Seconds, without accessing it the whole time... Moderators SmOke_N Posted March 27, 2010 Moderators Share Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) Global $h_handle, $File $File = @DesktopDir & "\test.txt" While 1\ $h_handle = FileOpen($File) If $h_handle = -1 Then ExitLoop FileReadLine($h_handle, 1) FileClose($h_handle) Sleep(20000) WEnd Edit: Noticed I didn't have it reading the handle Edited March 27, 2010 by SmOke_N Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... If you're lacking in that, do us all a favor, and step away from the computer.
Moderators Melba23 Posted March 27, 2010 Moderators Share Posted March 27, 2010 illumino,Use the file handle to close the file, not the file name: $File = @ScriptDir & "\fred1.au3" $hFile = FileOpen($File) FileReadLine($hFile, 1) ; or FileReadLine($File, 1) if you prefer FileClose($hFile)M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
