Open dialog arrange by modified

I am trying to either change properties of a program dialog or replace it so that when it opens, the files are arranged by modified date and the default file wildcard is "All". I can do the latter, but is there a better way to do the arrange by than trying to simulate going through the context menu? I won't mind if I wind up creating my own file dialog over the top of the program's dialog, but I haven't been able to find any items pertaining to this setting. The next thing up to try is to create my own dialog and populate it, but that'll be a headache for me and I don't know if it's the only way yet. Help?

Nevermind, I got something that works OK. It was a bit of a pain to pick a pixel that wouldn't have a file on it, but I think the bottom pixel of the dialog is safe. ControlClick and Send happen quick enough that it's not troublesome, though I would like a "better" way to do it.
