I'm not sure what your problem is, I've never had trouble debugging Lua errors in SciTE (and given that I wrote a lot of SciTE4AutoIt3's scripts, I had plenty of errors to deal with). At any rate, you can call Lua functions and pass parameters using whitespace separated arguments. Search the properties file for anything calling InvokeTool to see how it's done.

I took a look at ExtMan once and it's silly how much manual work I had to put into getting something to work. I much prefer the framework I wrote where-by you just inherit a class from the appropriate base class and implement the methods you want. The rest is handled automagically.
