ekstasy
Hi folks, I am a German student so sorry for any language errors. My problem is: I want to read the last Database release Date from Kaspersky Pure (Virus Scanner) for a study. The Scanner has a Symbol in the Taskbar and the Tooltip shows my wanted information. If I check the ShellTray_Wnd with the Window Info of AutoIt I can read the wanted Information in the "ToolBar" Tab (Index 1, Command ID 3, Text <- this is the what I want to read out). I searched the Internet and the Forum for a while but I could not find a clear solution to my problem (which is quite simple, in my opinion). I just need to read those Info and put it in a text file for being able to grab it with VMWare. I would be so glad, if you could help me out with this. KaFu
Don't have that AV installed, but maybe better try a FileGetTime() or FileGetVersion() on the definition file itself? Steveiwonder
@Kafu - do you even know how to get any of the info from "Toolbar" tab on the autoit window tool? I think that would be a good start. They call me MrRegExpMan
KaFu
Using the UDF you pointed to this returns the info for me: for $i = 0 to _SysTrayIconCount() ConsoleWrite(_SysTrayIconTooltip($i) & @crlf) next OS: Win10-22H2 - 64bit - German, AutoIt Version: 3.3.16.1, AutoIt Editor: SciTE, Website: https://funk.eu AMT - Auto-Movie-Thumbnailer (2022-Nov-26) BIC - Batch-Image-Cropper (2023-Apr-01) COP - Color Picker (2009-May-21) DCS - Dynamic Cursor Selector (2024-Feb-16) HMW - Hide my Windows (2018-Sep-16) HRC - HotKey Resolution Changer (2012-May-16) ICU - Icon Configuration Utility (2018-Sep-16) SMF - Search my Files (2023-Jun-03) - THE file info and duplicates search tool SSD - Set Sound Device (2017-Sep-16)
ekstasy
Will try that, thanks. @KaFu: No you cannot read out of ANY file which version it is, the encoding is REALLY strange, believe me.
