[RESOLVED] GUICtrlRichEdit : scrollbar always visible ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

For a script I need a RichEdit with vertical scrollbar always visible. I checked the help file, but I've found nothing about that.

At the moment I'm using this :

$History = _GUICtrlRichEdit_Create($GUI, 'test', 0, 1, 375, 203, BitOr($WS_VSCROLL, $ES_READONLY, $ES_MULTILINE))

The vertical scrollbar is visible but only when the richedit is plenty of text.

Hope that someone could help me.

Thx

Kuchiha,

That is the normal behaviour for Windows controls. Why do you want a scrollbar if there is nothing to scroll to?

Well, I'm trying to modify this chat script : http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112507

I want to use RichEdit in place of the GUICtrlEdit to be able to add bold, italic etc.

In the initial script the scrollbar is visible even if the CtrlEdit is empty, wich is not the case of the RichEdit.

Kuchiha,

So that Edit control had a abnormal scrollbar.

I ask again:- Why do you need a scrollbar if there is nothing in the control to scroll to?

As long as the scrollbar appears when you need it, what is the problem? Why is the default bahaviour unacceptable? :)
