Hello.

Is there a way allow scroll in a disabled list?

Here is an example:

#include <WindowsConstants.au3>
#include <GuiListBox.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate('test', 200, 100, -1, -1)
$hList = GUICtrlCreateList("enabled list. very long string. longer then this. even longer yet", 5, 5, 190, 50, BitOR($LBS_NOSEL, $WS_HSCROLL, $WS_VSCROLL))
$hList2 = GUICtrlCreateList("disabled list. very long string. longer then this. even longer yet", 5, 50, 190, 45, BitOR($LBS_NOSEL, $WS_HSCROLL, $WS_VSCROLL, $WS_DISABLED))
_GUICtrlListBox_UpdateHScroll($hList)
_GUICtrlListBox_UpdateHScroll($hList2)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

While 1
    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd

Thank you.

Just why would you want to be setting a List to Disabled? By their very definition list boxes are read only the user can't input anything anyway. You've already given it the $LBS_NOSEL style so it can't be selected.

For one thing is the style, I'd like to see it like it's disabled.

Then I still can "select" the the list itself (doted border around an item) - I want disallow that too.

And finally, just for general information, like "yes, it can be done" :idea:

VAN0,

Welcome to the AutoIt forum. :idea:

I do not believe you can scroll a disabled list - but what you can do is combine the NOSEL style with a grey colour for the text to make it look as if the List is disabled: :)

#include <WindowsConstants.au3>
#include <GuiListBox.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate('test', 200, 100, -1, -1)
$hList = GUICtrlCreateList("", 5, 5, 190, 50, BitOR($LBS_NOSEL, $WS_HSCROLL, $WS_VSCROLL))
$hList2 = GUICtrlCreateList("", 5, 50, 190, 45, BitOR($LBS_NOSEL, $WS_HSCROLL, $WS_VSCROLL))
GUICtrlSetColor($hList2, 0xC4C4C4)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

GUICtrlSetData($hList, "enabled list|very long string|longer then this|even longer yet")
GUICtrlSetData($hList2, "enabled list|very long string|longer then this|even longer yet")

While 1
    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd

But this still lets GUICtrlRead return a value, so you might think of using flags to prevent that: :)

#include <WindowsConstants.au3>
#include <GuiListBox.au3>

Global $fList = True, $fList2 = False

$hGUI = GUICreate('test', 200, 150, -1, -1)
$hList = GUICtrlCreateList("", 5, 5, 190, 50, BitOR($LBS_NOSEL, $WS_HSCROLL, $WS_VSCROLL))
$hList2 = GUICtrlCreateList("", 5, 50, 190, 45, BitOR($LBS_NOSEL, $WS_HSCROLL, $WS_VSCROLL))
GUICtrlSetColor($hList2, 0xC4C4C4)

$hButton = GUICtrlCreateButton("Disable 1", 10, 110, 80, 30)
$hButton2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Enable 2", 110, 110, 80, 30)

GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

GUICtrlSetData($hList, "enabled list|very long string|longer then this|even longer yet")
GUICtrlSetData($hList2, "enabled list|very long string|longer then this|even longer yet")

While 1
    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
        Case $hList
            iF $fList Then ConsoleWrite(GUICtrlRead($hList) & @CRLF)
        Case $hList2
            If $fList2 Then ConsoleWrite(GUICtrlRead($hList2) & @CRLF)
        Case $hButton
            $fList = Not $fList
            If GUICtrlRead($hButton) = "Enable 1" Then
                GUICtrlSetColor($hList, 0x000000)
            Else
                GUICtrlSetColor($hList, 0xC4C4C4)
            Endif
        Case $hButton2
            $fList2 = Not $fList2
            If GUICtrlRead($hButton2) = "Enable 2" Then
                GUICtrlSetColor($hList2, 0x000000)
            Else
                GUICtrlSetColor($hList2, 0xC4C4C4)
            Endif
    EndSwitch
WEnd

Does that help? :(
