Hidden Elements in IE

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm relatively new in AutoIT but have already some Experience with automating the IE. At the moment I have the following problem which I can't solve on my own. Who can give advice?

I have to automate an application which can have sometimes different shapes. So I have to consider this in my skripts.

There is an Input-Field in the interface which is sometimes hidden and sometimes not. I have to insert Input only when it's not hidden.

How can I check if the Field is hidden?

The Code of the Field is the following:

<INPUT type="hidden" name="anrede" jQuery1275563157709="16" value="kund" />

What does this field look like when it is not hidden (suggest using DebugBar)? I actually think it unlikely that this particular element is sometimes hidden and sometimes not... the type= attribute is not typically how this is accomplished, but JQuery may be doing some interesting things with it.

In any case, there would be several ways to approach this once you know... one would be to examine the outerHTML of the tag thusly:

$oInput = _IEGetObjByName($oIE, "anrede")

ConsoleWrite(_IEPropertyGet($oInput, "outerHTML"))

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?
