Recommended Posts

$dll = DllOpen("user32.dll")

While 1
    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
                Exit
       Case   $button And  _IsPressed("01", $dll)
                 Do
                 do_something() ;; continue doing it till I release primary mouse button.
                 Until Not _IsPressed("01", $dll)
    EndSwitch
WEnd

Hello,

I want the function do_something() to run until I release the primary mouse button or until I release the $button. What I have tried does not seem to be working. I am not sure whether "And" is appropriate between $button And _IsPressed("01", $dll). How can I do it.

Please guide me.

Regards

ajit,

First problem, you only fire a button as you release the mouse. :mellow: However, labels fire on mouse down. Try this code to see what I mean:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <Misc.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$hButton = GUICtrlCreateButton("Press me", 10, 10, 80, 30)

$hLabel = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Press me", 10, 50, 80, 30)
GUICtrlSetBkColor(-1, 0xCCFFCC)

GUISetState()

While 1

    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
        Case $hButton
            MsgBox(0, "Hi", "You released the mouse button")
        case $hLabel
            MsgBox(0, "Hi", "You pressed the mouse button")
            $fPressed = True
    EndSwitch

WEnd

So do you want the function to end on mouse up or button release? :P

Melba,

Thanks for the explanation. Your example showed me the difference between how a lable and how a buton works.

Now that I know that for the button to function, I have to first release the mouse, what is is the way out?

I want to use the button for my media player for $rewind_button so that the audio is rewinded by a increment of say 1 second each loop cycle until I release the primary mouse button.

Any way out?

Regards

Ajit

Theoretically you should be able to register WM_COMMAND and check for $BN_PUSHED but for some reason the msg is never sent and isn't working. So you may be stuck with using _GUICtrlButton_GetState , which will return the state of the button and can detect if it is being pushed down.
