Aleksandr
Hi! I have created simple AutoIt script for training purposes. It launches an application, hits some buttons and closes the application. I have used simple MouseMove, MouseClick functions. The script is working on the computer where I have created it (Windows 2000 OS). But I have also sent the script executable to my friend (WinXP). The problem is that it opens an application and does nothing. The cursor is not being moved to the intended place. The same behaviour is also on Vista. The minor note - to be able to send it through e-mail, I have manually changed extension from.exe to .txt, and then recovered it on receiving machine. Does anyone have an idea what is wrong? (I suppose changing extension is not the reason). Thanks.
Moderators Melba23 Posted June 24, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 24, 2010 Aleksandr,Welcome to the AutoIt forum. It is very difficult to say what might be wrong, but as you are using MouseMove and MouseClick something that immediately springs to mind is a problem with screen resolutions. Are you sure that the coordinates you have used will work on the other machine? If you posted your script so that we can take a look, we might be able to suggest something more positive to help. What application are you trying to automate? You might well be able to use Control* functions so that the screen position becomes irrelevant. M23P.S. When you post code please use Code tags. Put [autoit ] before and [/autoit ] after your posted code (but omit the trailing space - it is only there so the tags display here). Or press the blue button just under the BOLD toolbar button.
