Zip files

RMR,

I am not angry - whatever gave you that impression?

any other way except encrypt/decrypt ZIP

As far as I can see and learn from Google, the ability of zipfldr.dll to create encrypted zips was removed in Vista and above. So it seems you cannot create an encrypted zip using wraithdu's UDF - which depends on that DLL. ;)

However, returning to my suggestion to encrypt the zip file made by the UDF by writing a small function to encrypt the file after it is made, more thought has lead me to see that you would also need a similar function to decrypt the file later. Assuming this code would be complied and distributed with the zip, I can see the decryption exe being bigger than the zip itself :P - which rather defeats the object of the exercise. :nuke:

However, the third party 7-Zip utility will let you create password protected (only part of the zip is encrypted) zips and there are some 7-Zip wrapper UDFs on the forum - perhaps you might prefer to go this route instead. :

It's an old post but anyone still including _Zip.au3 may find that their other includes may not be able to trap COM errors if this gets in first:

Global Const $_Zip_COMErrorHandler = ObjEvent("AutoIt.Error", "_Zip_COMErrorFunc")

For example, using functions from IE.au3 may give these warnings and they may not be stable.

--> IE.au3 T3.0-2 Warning from function internal function __IEIsObjType, Cannot register internal error handler, cannot trap COM errors
