folder encryption and hash

Recommended Posts

Hi, first.. thank you to everyone who has helped with my project to date.

I have a folder that contains about 6 to 10 files.

I need to hash the files and write the results to a file and place the file in the folder.

I then wish to encrypt the folder.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

robertmoody151,

Look in the Help file under <User Defined Function Reference - Encrytion Management>. I imagine the ones you will want are _Crypt_HashFile and _Crypt_EncryptFile.

I wuld structure the code something like this:

- Use _FileListToArray to list the files

- Loop through the names and get the hash for each one - replacing the name with the hash

- Use _FileWriteFromArray to write the hashes to a file

- Encrypt the whole thing with _Crypt_EncryptFile

I am not sure you can do the last step in a single action you will have to try it and see. However, what you could do would be to zip the folder using wraithdu's excellent UDF here and then encrypt the resulting single file. ;)

Hi, first thanks for the structure of the code, my problem is this:

cryptare I would like a list of files (_FileListToArray), the files must retain the same name but with an added number or a letter © or. crypt or other.

You say once you get the list using a loop, etc. ....

Could you give an example of code.

Thanks again
