DVD Player with AutoIt

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

I'm writing a simple program for catalog my DVD collection.

I'd like (so much!!) to add the "DVD preview" function to this program: clic on film name and the DVD start to play (I've the DVD files, IFO/VOB, saved in my hard disk).

I know that is NOT easy, but at least the right way for start to program an interface for DVD reading? Anyone help me?

THXX!

So basically you want to click on a video file from your collection and have it play? (Cut out the dvd menus?) I suggest DVDfab7 to do that, it's just a ripper that will take out all the extras/menus on a DVD then save them as VOBs or ISOs. You should be able to find it on Google.

Yes exactly! I already use it for backup my DVD collection on the hard disk drive!!

But I'd like to program that preview in my AutoIt application...

Maybe this DVD player helps.

I think is the same way to do for having a DVD preview (my files saved with DVDFab is in IFO/VOB), but the download doesn't start...

THX 4 reply!

Follow the link.

That's a link to AutoItObject. UDF file that allows AutoIt easy access to the whole new layer of Windows operating system.

In the download package there would be example scripts too. One of them is called DirectShow.au3. I's a direct show player (minimalistic though), meaning you can use it to play almost everything, including dvd files. I don't know who wrote that script but certainly looks cool.

... no wait, wait. I know who wrote it.
