using a menu

Hello,

I have a basic question in autoit - how to use menu?

I added the code to create to the menu, but didn't manage to run a command when clicking on it.

Thanks for any Help

this is the code for creating the menu: (working fine)

$GlobalMenu = GUICtrlCreateMenu("&Global")

$ExitDisconnectItem = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("Exit and &Disconnect",$GlobalMenu,0)

$ExitItem = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("&Exit",$GlobalMenu,1)

this is what I try to do to run a command when a menu is clicked (Not working)

GUISetState()

While 1

$msg = GUIGetMsg()

If $msg = $ExitItem Then MsgBox (1,"tt","message")

Sleep(2000) ; Idle around

WEnd

moshi,

This works fine for me: :blink:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$GlobalMenu = GUICtrlCreateMenu("&Global")
$ExitDisconnectItem = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("Exit and &Disconnect", $GlobalMenu, 0)
$ExitItem = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("&Exit", $GlobalMenu, 1)

GUISetState()

While 1
    $msg = GUIGetMsg()
    If $msg = $ExitItem Then MsgBox(1, "tt", "message")
WEnd

Note you do not need a Sleep in your While...WEnd loop if you use GUIGetMsg. As explained in the Help file, the function puts in its own sleep for you. ;)
